Eugowra Water Tank Project
In 2022, communities in Central West NSW were impacted by severe flooding events. These events had many adverse effects including significantly impacted water infrastructure - primarily water tanks - which made access to drinking water an ongoing issue for many living in the area.
Rural Aid were on the ground working with the community and identified 10 farming families who needed access to water tanks for drinking water.

The Project
In November 2023 with the region starting to prepare for a season of drought and extreme heat, six volunteer tradies came to the area to install new 22,000 litre rainwater tanks for 10 families.
Due to the vast remote area, mains water is not an option for households who rely on water storage for drinking water.
With the local Reece Parkes branch on hand to support with supplies, branch staff coordinated the delivery of tanks across the vast region, which was mostly on unsealed roads. Bases for the tanks were prepared, and the team of volunteers worked with each family to install the water tanks and plumb them into the homes.

Supporting rural families.
The water tanks we installed supported 35 residents with access to clean drinking water, providing welcome relief for the long, dry summer ahead.
A better world starts with you.
